The little triangle blade glides through a cold tomato without crushing it, which is exactly what I needed for salads. Made in Solingen, it feels sturdy and sharp, and the butter spheres come out perfectly smooth too.

The blade cuts through a chilled stick of butter so cleanly that the spheres come out perfectly smooth, no crumbling or smearing. Even with a firm pear it took just one firm twist, which is far better than the flimsy melon ballers I've used before.

Finally got one of these Solingen-made cutters and the quality shows in the blade—it glides through a pear cleanly without crushing the flesh. The little triangles pop out perfectly, and even firm butter at fridge temp comes out with crisp edges.
